How To Plan a Successful Move

Moving can be hard work and sometimes it comes close to the point of being tedious and exhausting. So, it is advisable to hire best movers in Dubai. But if you know how to organize it well, you can do it. You should consider these point by point moving tips for a successful move:

If you do not plan on taking your old furniture with you, you should get right on to sell it. Have a garage sale as early as a week before moving to give you ample time to dispose your old furniture and add some income for your moving expenses. You can sell them online on EBay or a blog site. You can ask a furniture company to do trade in for newer furniture or it can be as simple as contacting a furniture dealer that sells used ones. Or if you don’t want to part with it, look for self storage facilities in Dubai and store them there for future use.

If you are planning to bring some of the furniture with you, hire a moving company as early as a month before the move date so you are assured of a fixed schedule and a confirmed mover. Two days before the actual move, call up the moving company to confirm their service. Your home address should be changed before the actual move in date. It would be hard to lose mails because of not changing your address sooner. You should list down the companies that require a change of address notice like bank cards, credit cards, utility bills, online catalogs and magazine subscriptions.

Do your packing a week before. If you have more things to pack, you should allot at least 2 weeks for organizing your stuff. Always mark your boxes and separate the things according to their uses. Glass and breakables should be neatly and securely wrapped in bubble wrap. You can buy bubble wrap from your local bookstores. It will be better to organize boxes by room too. For example, all the things in your bedroom should be inside your respective boxes and marked “bedroom.” This will be the format for the other rooms in your house or apartment. Always secure the things that contain liquid. Liquid items like shampoo, lotion, mouthwash or even medicine, should be placed in a container that does not warp. You should pack the liquid items in a compact way or they will be moving or might topple over and spill.

Keep your receipts for the rentals and utility bills. You might need those later if some of the utility companies fail to patch your current address from your old one. Make sure the things you borrowed from neighbors like mowers or tools are returned. It would be hard for you to return them if you are already miles from them and it would be impolite not to return them at all.

Once your move is on the go, bade goodbye to your neighbors and be courteous. If you are driving the moving van, it will be best to drive slower than your usual speed. You will need more time and area to brake and stop if you are driving a heavy load. It is better to be cautious than to jeopardize your whole operation and safety.

It is always exciting to see new places and move into a new place to live. Though it is sad to leave some friends and neighbors behind, moving can open a window to better opportunities and better living standards.
