EDITOR—A masterful lesson on how the capitalist/imperialist system really works, which is something the rulers can’t afford to allow because it unmasks their criminality and complete disregard for democracy and all the rest we have been taught to believe in. Fact is, the truth instantly erodes the legitimacy of the international rules-based order, and the credibility of the ruling class in the US, UK, and other members of the US empire, the so-called “collective West”. As Joti Brar notes, we enjoy free speech, “as long as no one is listening…when they begin to lose the quiescence, the passivity of the masses, free speech is over.”

OLIVER BOYD-BARRETT—The effete leaders of the Western World stubbornly persist in repeating all their mistakes. So, knowing that their obsessive craving for a sanctions regime that might work the way they think it should work is actually a rather pathetic delusion which only makes Russia more independent and more prosperous than ever, and which diminishes Western trade and profitability and pushes up the cost of energy for Western industry and is right now pushing Europe into recession and deindustrialization, what do they do? Even the IMF has told Washington and Europe that its sanctions packages are counterproductive.

KIT KLARENBERG—A major component of the Integrity Initiative scandal was the organisation’s construction of cloak-and-dagger “clusters”. These were – and may well remain today – clandestine networks of journalists, scholars, politicians and military and intelligence operatives, which the Initiative could mobilise to disseminate black propaganda, therefore influencing policy and perceptions, targeting domestic and overseas adversaries. One little-known example of the potency of clusters was an aggressive campaign to falsely connect Julian with the Kremlin.

EDITOR—Matt Orfalea in one of his inimitable spoofs demonstrates that for all its ostensible diversity, US media does not dare deviate from the official monotonic narrative on any of the important topics defining reality for most people in the West. This was seen, for example, with the phenomenon of Russiagate, still an unchallenged hoax now making a comeback with the expected victory of Trump in 2024, and currently the narrative gyrations covering the Ukraine fiasco, the imperial genocide of Palestinians, and the constant demonisation of Washington’s main designated enemies, Russia, China, and Iran.
